Pixel Shelf is self-hosted, meaning you run it on your own network. That means no pesky subscription fees and no fear of a cloud service shutting down leaving your data stranded. Run it on your computer or use a Raspberry Pi for a more dedicated setup. In addition, Pixel Shelf is open source. Don't like the color scheme? Fork the repository and change it to whatever you want.
